Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia and Reid Hoffman discuss scaling designing experiences


Joe Gebbia a co-founder of the highly successful company Airbnb. He has been awarded with a number of accolades including membership into the Inc. Magazine’s Thirty under Thirty and Fortune Magazine’s Forty-under-Forty. Gebbia met his fellow co-founder Brian Chesky at the Rhode Island School of Design. Airbnb is unique among technology companies due to his heavy emphasis and attention to aesthetics and design. The founders of Airbnb had to use an incredible amount of creativity to get their idea off the ground and Gebbia discusses that journey with Reid Hoffman.

Reid Hoffman is a serial entrepreneur who played an instrumental part in the company PayPal. He was a co-founder of the business platform LinkedIn in 2002 and Microsoft acquired the company for $26 billion which resulting in Hoffman joining the board of Microsoft. Hoffman also became a partner in the iconic venture capital firm Greylock Partners and he was also one of the first external investors in Facebook.

Joe and Reid engage in a conversation about lessons that they have learnt in business and how Airbnb became the success that it is today.
