Many years ago I remember hearing a moral tale about three cats. I will recite it here.
It began like this. There were three cats sitting on a fence, and two decided to jump off.
The person who was telling me the story asked how many cats were left on the fence. I assumed that there would be one cat left on the fence. He then said, ‘no, there were still three cats on the fence.’ He continued with the moral of the tale, ‘deciding to jump off of the fence is not the same thing as jumping off the fence.’
I got the message and never forgot the distinction between those that speak about things, and others that follow through and do the things necessary in order to succeed.
So the next time that you decide to ‘jump off the fence’ then jump off the fence.
