How did billionaire Ray Dalio learn to invest?

Ray Dalio is one of the most successful hedge fund managers in the world, and his company Bridgewater Associates managers over $160 billion for approximately 350 clients around the world. Forbes estimates his net worth to be around $16 billion, however Dalio started with nothing and grew his wealth from the ground up.

He was born in 1949 in the Queens area of New York. He began investing at the age of 12, and kept a keen interest in the markets as he grew up. He went to Harvard to complete an MBA from the business school there, and went to work for the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street.

He went on to work for other firms, then in 1975 he launched Bridgewater Associates out of his Connecticut apartment and grew it from there into the powerhouse that it is today.

Ray shares some incredibly potent advice that may appear simple on the surface, yet there is a great deal of wisdom in his words, and often profound thoughts and insights do not need to be complicated to be truly effective.
